Manufacturing Engineer - Milwaukee

  • Job Location: Milwaukee, WI
  • Base Pay Range: $50,000 minimum
  • Employment Type: Full time
  • Education: Requires a four year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and applications. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Description:
    1. Oversees and performs a variety of engineering steps after initial sales orders are received, including but not limited to engineering components of initial estimating, tooling, casting, machining, heat treating, plating, sampling, and analysis of production samples and final production runs.

     

    1. Works with Manufacturing Manager to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

     

    1. Consults with customer to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to manufacturing capabilities and quality standards.

     

    1. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

     

    1. Confers with the Manufacturing Manager regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

     

    1. Creates routings and BOMs for accuracy and implements new items when needed.

     

    1. Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support sales and production.

     

    1. Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.

     

    1. Designs or sources appropriate fixtures, tooling, and machining applications for production.

     

    1. Conducts Kaizen and GAPS groups as assigned, and assures products, materials and processes comply with and advance quality initiatives and standards.

     

  • Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and applications. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
